| omg...what is with these people who keep repeating the same old bullshit?? |
|
I just got off the phone with a friend who lives in Tennessee. She's never been politically active, but her dad is head of the repub party in their district. He must be spewing every talking point that has been regurgitated in the last two years.:banghead:She said she couldn't vote for Obama because he wasn't a "Christian" since he went to Rev. Wright's church for 20 years.:wtf:
We have been "discussing" this for the last hour. She asked me if Obama was born in the US and I said, "yes, Hawaii." She said she wasn't sure if it was a real birth certificate. By this time, my mouth was so dry from refuting her talking points I told her to just email what she had and if she was open to see the facts I would send them. Oddly enough she agreed to be fair and read them, because she wants to be fair.
I'm exhausted. :boring:

www.factcheck.org .
Tell her she can be educated, or just believe and spew a bunch of bullshit. If she wishes to be educated on both sides of the issues, that site debunks just about every ad, claim, or e-mail out there.

| 3. At least she is open to listening to you1 |

Most wing-nuts aren't. Consider that she's been indoctinated by her dad and you are tasked with deprogramming her. Good luck -- all you can do is give her the facts.

| 4. McCain is the one who wasn't born is the US. |
|
McCain is the one who hasn't been to church for the last 20 - or 30 or 40 - years. McCain is the one who wants to turn America into a socialist country.
Everything the GOP says is a lie. Tell her to prove otherwise.

they are put in a position when they lose their job, house, assets etc. I had a friend in the UK who was what they called a 'Yuppy' he had a huge house - huge mortgage, fabulous job, loads of money. Well guess what he was fired. He was eating humble pie. The guy is a changed man, horrible in debt. He now actively campaigns for the Labour Party and is considering standing for the local Council. So the moral of this story there is light at the end of the tunnel!
