I wouldn't necessarily say Woodruff backed down, however. He said, "With all due respect to your polls, even considering the post-convention bounce, I think it's much much closer than that." Then she moronically replied, "Even after the post-convention bounce?" Hello, Judy! Anyone home?

| 6. They had Kerry up 8 points in registered voters 3 weeks ago. |
|
In likely voters Kerry is down to 44% (from 48% 3 weeks ago) and Bush is up to 52%. It is a shift of about 8 percent in the last 3 weeks. The swift crap and the convention seems to have shifted things in Ohio Bush's way.

| 19. Their state polls show extreme swings |
|
I wouldn't worry about it. The fact that Kerry is practically even among RVs tells me their LV sample is way too Republican. They've shown leads too big for Kerry, too. The race in Ohio is close enough that Kerry has a shot.

| 7. CNN is pushing the fact that Bush is up 8% in likely voters |
|
Given the fact that the CNN/USAToday/Gallup polls have consistently given Bush 5-10% more than all other polls (since Campaign 2000), this can't be good news for Bush.
I can't wait to hear a poll from a more credible source.

| 9. We need more than that with "Registered Voters". |
|
Registered Voters tend to favor us, Likey Voters tend to favor them.
We need to keep plugging away no matter what.

|
'registered' voters will stay home. I read the fine print in one of the polls and it gave the criteria for classifying someone as "likely" and one of the points was if they voted in the last election. Does anyone know what some of the other criteria is?? Anyway, it takes some sort of an effort to "register" at some point in your life and with all that has gone down, I just can't see massive numbers of "registered" voters sitting this one out (I can see people who have never registered not taking any interest in anything but not registered voters).

accurate 60 days out from an election. Wait at least until a week or so after the last debate. Lots of people change their mind about voting. Registered voters is the best predictor at this time.

In fact, I'm predicting that Bush will have a horrible two months. People are starting to talk, and we have Carville and Begala on our side. That's why my electoral vote prediction is so lopsided.
