It is misleadingly northern around coastal communities and the Orlando area because we are inundated with tourists and retirees from as far as Canadia, but make no mistake--this is The South, land of pickup trucks, Confederate flags, and weirdly cultish, nondenominational "churches" on every corner and in every strip mall. As bad as it is, it can get worse. I had to drive way up to Pensacola a few months ago and was amazed to see they have people standing on roadways (corners and medians), bibles in hand, and screaming at everyone to repent because "the end is near."

And yes--that is a real tag. Before it came out, there was another one proposed that caused an outrage because the pro-lifers decided it was pro choice (can't remember what it was specifically, but I recall thinking they had to be seriously fucked up to reach that conclusion). Not only was that tag not approved, but this POS appeared soon after. I think the only decent vanity tag we have now is the John Lennon "Imagine" tag. Every time I threaten to get it, my son insists it would just target me for traffic stops and redneck vandals, plus they're quite expensive. Instead, I've opted to combat the omnipresent Jesus fish with a FSM (sadly, too subtle for anyone but other Pastafarians):
