8. I'd heard of Dan Bartlett long before I finally saw him.

In case you didn't know, he was considered the Bush administration's wunder-kid; very young and smart, responsible for more than what his age would typically warrant, getting the job done like a Karen Hughes only behind the curtain. For two years though he was just one of the sharp guys in the background. I wanted to see what he was all about and was a little anxious that he was as billed.

They started marching him out around Iraq. What. A. Doofus. You don't have to listen to two minutes of him before you realize he's got little substance, insight, honesty, intellect and therefore power beyond that gotten just by being near power. He's as insipid as Grover Norquist only with a cloying, country-boy smile to slather his dull evasions with.

He's the perfect match for a president with phony character and integrity.
