It isn't going to amount to anything much. This campaign has become for, by and about television. They did the Swifties thing, and now Matthews says tonight, "Who cares what happened 30 years ago."
They're bored of it now. Conveniently.
We have to get them on other fronts. I'll be happily wrong if this story takes off. Not being cynical, but that's kinda how I see the lay of the land (fwiw).

| 14. The AWOL has purpose and relevance that will elevate it |
|
Vietnam was a war built on a lie with thousands of needless American deaths and countless more on the other side. It was furthered to satisfy the political goals of Nixon and his administration, according to young Kerry, to the disregard of unmet needs at home and a disregard and neglect of veterans.
This is much like the Bush's wars of opportunity and their callous disregard for the lives and well-being of our soldiers, veterans, our citizens, or even those we claim to be 'liberating'. Vietnam may be divisive, wrenching, but it forces us to face up, once again to the effects of our imperialistic nation-stomping and the limits of military power alone, as in Iraq.
The Swiftlies mostly served to elevate these questions about Bush's absence from duty and Cheney's refusal to serve. As their manufactured militaristic facade crumbles in the face their own selfish avoidance of responsibility in the past, we are in turn offered a mirror to their reckless indifference today.
I think the delicious hypocrisy will be irresistible.

But it certainly stems a tide, and turns some of the same crap back on the spewers. It's interesting to me to see how the newsreaders are explaining how turnabout is no longer to be considered fair play.

They are discussing fonts. Proportional spacing fonts and when it was advanced into common use in the last half of the Twentieth Century. Sherlock Holmes would be proud as they dissect every "i" or the suspiciousness of a "t".
Crack monkey puzzle pros these freepers are. I think they have found out that if you put the questionable letters together they spell "COWARD".
