Bush's squadron Commandaer, Jerry Killian, writes in his memo, titled 'CYA' that he's being pressured by higher-ups to give Bush a favorable yearly evaluation, to sugarcoat his review. In the memo he say's he will "backdate" the evaluation but will not rate.

Memo is dated August 18, 1973 (link above).

Terry Moran was reporting for ABC's GMA- I was flipping channels to see coverage of this on the morning shows. Carville and Tucker Eskew had a debate on The Today Show- Carville KICKED ASS.

I don't remember quotes myself, but Carville was hammering Bush on not wanting to debate Kerry, and agreeing with Eskew that the Republicans are right: if you are satisfied with the way things are going (rapidly reciting the laundry list of Bush era-horrors) then you should vote for Bush, but if you want to change the direction of the country, then vote for Kerry.

Of course, Carville's rapid-fire, smiling, confident jabbing delivery as only he can do (no-one can squeeze more messgaes into tiny time allotments) was fantastic.

he pissed off Tucker Eskew bigtime!

Eskew said something like "Don't call me "boy"" to Carville (who WAS calling him "boy"- even referred to him as "young"- ha ha).

When the interview came to a close, Carville was grinning from ear to ear and Eskew looked positively grim!
