I'm worried about the debates

But this is not a "sky is falling" post!
I really think Kerry will win the debates and the election.

But I thought Gore easily won the debates last time and the media turned it into Gore losing because of his SIGHING!

Do you think miniscule shit like that will matter this time?

1. The only thing we need to worry about the debates

is that bush will not be there

2. I bet Chimpy will try to insist on having all the questions in advance

and on having Cheney-the-Dick holding his hand and telling him the answers.

3. I don't think Kerry will make even ONE mistake like that

in 1992 GB #1 looked at his watch and got some flack...Gore did the "sigh" and then did that walking right up to GWB and staring him down...Kerry won't do that...and really like you said even if he does...Bush will look like an idiot...the whole country didn't know him last time..they do now..all these "new policies and ideas" shoud click with people...he is running like he is a new guy with lots of new ideas..he forgets (maybe due to drug and alcohol abuse) that he has had 4 years to do SOME of these "grand ideas" and has done nothing...

I am babbling but I think Kerry will do well in those debates and it will be obvious to all (no matter what the filter says) that Kerry did well

4. Kerry doesn't sigh or mug during debates.

Kerry is famously cool under the pressure of debates.

5. from everything I have seen of Kerry on TV talking, I think he can

easily take care of himself, particularly as he will be telling the truth.

4 years ago Bush was lying but didn't have a track record..now he has to be thinking of his feet, as liars do , and it is very very hard, particularly for him.

6. I think Gore lost the debates where it counted....

On personality. Yes, his facts were correct. But the first debate he came on unnecessarily strong like Mike Tyson going 10 rounds in the ring with Stephen Hawking and feeling the need to pummel him within the first. He looked like an intellectual bully.

Then when he was overly concilliatory in the second debate he seemed like he was playing to his critics.

Yes, his information and his facts were correct but a lot of those debates is unfortunately about comparing the two personalities. I could see where he lost.
