The former Governor (Murkowski) was as bat shit crazy egomaniac as Caribou Barbie is now. Because Murkowski selected his daughter (nepotism anyone?) to the Senate a few years ago, the Alaskan legislators had a shit-fit and changed the law to requiring a "special election."

Nope, the ho from Wasilla will not be able to appoint his replacement to the US Senate.
