| Why did Cheney's HORRIFIC statement not get mainstream media coverage? |
|
The other day when Cheney said: "It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."
I just think its wrong that a statement like that goes unnoticed... by that statement alone anyone should be able to tell the man is a fucking psycho!

My bad... sometimes I just can't stomach cbs, abc, cnn, msnbc and of course faux... but even still - it seems to me that if a statement like that were covered on local and mainstream media, there would be more controversy over it and they'd still be mulling over it by now...
I think the Edwards response was appropriate, but not repeated enough thus far... it should be a huge point in the Kerry campaign.. (just my opinion..)

I saw it mentioned on a couple networks and there was an article in my local paper. Of course, it should be put up on billboards all across the country, so I guess it didn't get enough coverage.

It has. But we consume different pieces of a very fragmented media, sporadically and in different amounts.

of yet another way they may try to stay in power.
I'm utterly convinced that the Bush cabal will not go just because John Kerry gets more votes than W. There are many, many ways to steal the election, and I amuse myself by thinking up various scenarios. And now, thanks to you, I have a new one.
And it goes like this: Kerry, despite all of the Republican efforts, actually comes out with more votes tallied for him than for W. But soon after election day a terrorist attack occurs, and there's a groundswell of public opinion to retain Bush and all the wonderful, strong heroes around him. It would be amazingly easy to manipulate public opinion. After all, in the weeks leading up to the Iraq invasion, despite the fact that some 60 percent of the public opposed the war, all but about 2% of the stories in the media were calling for war. The anti-war voices simply were not heard. And in my scenario, the anti-Bush voices will not be heard.
I make no claims about any specific way they'll use to stay in power, but I won't rest easy until Kerry takes the oath of office at noon on January 20, 2005.
