| Another nutso Killian document forgery theory-- |
|
Maybe the Bushies or their agents had perfectly good documents & then created & released forgeries with the same content in order to discredit the information in the original documents. This pre-emptively weakens all the other evidence, including witness testimony. Now you have witnesses testifying to the truth of stuff that is contained in "forged" documents, thereby compromising the credibility of their testimony.

And that is a big If, and I am not convinced that they are forgeries, especially after reading the histories of the IBM typewriters, <gaaaaaasssssp>that is how it went down, then it is one of the bigger and more sophisticated ratfucks in the history of American politics. And your theory may not be far off the Rovian mark.
But then, who are we talking about? Karl Rove, King Ratfucker.
But remember, besides a lot of loud speculation by FreePeeZ and pundits and a lot of "Eckspurts", nothing truly substantive has been revealed. Just FUD.

Had to read that post twice to get it:
Sorry, naw, don't buy it, that dog doesn't hunt, etc.
The idea that Bushies created forgeries, then released same to discredit same is a little like saying the Nov 22 killers first shot JFK in the head, then staged Dealy Plaza to cover it up.
Extra stong tinfoil, I hope.

| 5. Well, I DID say it was nutso. |

But somehow just twisted enough to carry a Rovian flavor.
The analogy isn't Dealey Plaza, but the case in which Rove apparently planted a true Bush/coke story with James Hatfield & then discredited Hatfield as an ex-felon.

That Rove/coke story trick is an old one to political operatives.
Plant a story, then discredit the source, especially when that story harms your guy. Insulation.
Mark Hana used the same trick to stop stories about McKinley's whoring around back in the late 1890's.
Not "genius" on Rove's part, just a good knowledge of the gamesmanship.
