| Remember, Rove planted a bug in his own candidate's(Clements) office |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 09:00 AM by digno dave
Just before the debate between Clements and Mark White(for TX governor) Rove planted a bug in Clements office so his candidate would gain sympathy from the press/populate. This "forgery" mess has similarities.

...that the documents released by CBS are forgeries, please post it immediately instead of attempting to create doubt where none exists.

I wonder how many "journalists" are aware of Karl Rove's tactics.
I don't know whether I think the docs were forged or not (I tend to think not), but if they were forged you can bet your booty it was Rove, and it makes me sick that he'd get away with it. Which he would--because there are very, very few investigative journalists anymore.

In fact, the fleeting thought that the documents were planted by Rove operatives crossed my mind. Only because Rove operates by such fraudulent means as a rule. But I have a lot of confidence in CBS and didn't give it any more thought.
Frankly, it would be a hoot if it all came out that this was conjured up by Rove. But it's dubious that Rove would want to put a spotlight on what we surmise to be a harsh truth about the shrub.
The bottom line is that we already know that * failed to take his physical and his whereabouts are unaccounted for during the critical timeframe. I'm counting on CBS having a trump card in hand.

Variables and control, it all comes down to variables and control and therefore probability. In the planting of the bug, that's braindead simple, one little device in your own office then scream bloody murder and let the media outrage work in your favor. The likelihood of failure is near zero.
A forgery conspiracy that required fooling a major news organization and all its experts is incalculably less likely. What were Rove and Co. supposed to do if CBS's experts quietly exposed the documents as a fake, and CBS never went public with them, call up and suggest alternate experts who were on Rove's payroll?
