the address on the May 4th document was centered very well. I wonder what documents he was analyzing... They wouldn't have him analyzing printouts of PDF documents, right? :eyes:
I don't remember his name, though. The report was by David Gregory and seemed like material that was probably recycled from the NBC Nightly News broadcast.

| 19. um, centering was easy on a manual |
|
I learned it even though I got a D in high school typing. All you had to do was fold your paper in half longways before inserting it into the machine, then count the number of letters and spaces you needed to type and divide by two (something I could do even with a B- in math). Use the crease to line up the middle of your word, backspace and voila!

| 12. Alison Stewart used CBS points to debunk the forgery allegations |
|
She pointed out that Bush's own previously released records have the small th and that the company who introduced the new roman style brought it out in 1931. These remarks effectively discredited the so-called "expert" who speculated that those features indicated the papers were fakes.
(I also had to laugh at the expert's lame speculation that it is unlikely the address would have been centered that way using a typewriter since it is harder to do than on a computer. Sure, everything is easier on a computer, but we still did those things on a typewriter- I remember being taught in typing class over 30 years ago how to center an address exactly like the address shown on the memo.)

I can't believe that an expert would think we couldn't center a heading. I had to do that on all of my term papers.

| 20. Boy, this expert wouldn't have survived an office job in the 60/70's |
|
If he finds it hard to center an adress on a typewriter, he wouldn't have lasted more than a few days! I also remember learning how to do that in typing class and (hide) it was 45 years ago. It's really funny to see the young "experts" speak about technology that doesn't exist any more except in museums.

|
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 07:34 PM by nu_duer
someone would just come forward and verify that bush did indeed fulfill his obligations in the Alabama National Guard. The Texans for Truth will announce a cash incentive for anyone who can come forward and very bush was there and fulfilled his obligations there.
That's how the piece ended - leaving the docs a question, but ending with how easily this could all be put to rest if only someone could come forward and vouch for bush. YES!
Of course, that wouldn't really put to rest the issue of HOW bush got into the guard, and MSNBC didn't mention that, or Barnes, in this piece, but still, the gist of this report tosses the ball back into bush's camp, fake docs or no.
I think it says a lot about the character of honorable men who, after all these years, refuse to set aside their integrity to lie for bush (and I have no doubt the bribe offers have been tempting). And if there were someone who would lie for the coward in chief, he'd have done it by now.

Bush. Oh,must have the family to feed and thus, out with the kneepads. Keep playing with him, David, and you will end up destroyed just like all those who were bending over and trying to play nice with the Bushes.

All are still reporting the old news about "th's" and "conformal spacing".
Their new managing editors KNOW that they are still running with old news and must be quaking to figure out a response to CBS's moment.
WORST: NOT ONE IS DEALING WITH THE REAL ISSUE: MAKING BUSH BEGIN TO ANSWER VERY SERIOUS QUESTIONS.
