| 3. In MN, we use optiscan ballots. |
|
They are fed into a machine, but there is a paper ballot kept for re-counts.
FL and OH have a mixture of touchscreen paperless ballot counties and paper ballots. I believe the largest democratic counties in FL are paperless, which is why I don't think we stand a chance of winning that state. There is too many chances for tampering with the votes.
MI has paper ballots of some kind.
And I am clueless about the other states. Would blackboxvoting.org have any details on this?

| 4. I think the issue regarding stealing the election through bbvs |
|
is how many of the 1/3rd of voters that will use computerized voting machines don't get a paper ballot print out. Also, if I'm remembering correctly, once Bev Harris said that sometimes these print outs are not considered legal ballots and are ignored in the case of a dispute. Does anybody know if this is correct?

| 8. In Florida/Ohio, the touchscreen machines are paperless |
|
Nevada has touchscreen machines with paper ballots that will be used for re-counting. There have articles about their machines, because I believe they are the only state that has touchscreens with paper ballots. Utah is holding off on getting touchscreens until they get printers, I believe.
As far as having voters use absentee ballots instead, the ballots are fed into the touchscreen machines anyway. So, the ballots make no difference. And I read on Table Talk (I believe) that there are still some 2000 absentee ballots still sitting around one of the Florida counties uncounted. Personally, I think if you are in a touchscreen county, you might as well vote on the machine. If they are going to steel the election, they are going to steel the election. Using an absentee ballot isn't going to stop them.

| 9. That is my understanding about absentee ballots also. |
|
Still, I can imagine a scenario of a contested election going to the courts (sound familiar) and the only available ballots (i.e. absentee) are court ordered to be produced and counted.

| 5. Not sure about all of Colorado |

But in Denver County, we jjustt got bright new, fancy touch screen machines. I'm canvassing the streets with a pocket full of absentee requests.
I have no word on what brand or whether or not paper reams are on them, but I doubt it. Denver is heavily Democratic, and we have a Repug controlled State House. Do he math.

along with population numbers of the precincts and whether they are predominantly Dem or Repub. I have a horrible feeling that the paperless ones are primarily in Dem areas. Hope I'm wrong.
