or does it seem funny to anyone else that this came up in a year when the state could *possibly* go to kerry?

I was just wondering if the only reason it even came up is that someone would rather see some of the electoral votes going to bush* than the entire states electoral votes going to kerry.

that being said, i'd like to see EVERY state make the change you are contemplating.

3. Actually, it's the Democrats who are initiating this

To be honest, it's a bad idea to do this when no other state is committing to this. It makes the battle for the state essentially worthless - if it passes, in the future, no presidential candidate will bother campaigning in Colorado because the marging will almost always be 5-4 one way or the other.

Such a proportional system would be much better than our current system IF every state adopted this method.
