i was just thinking... with all these polls coming out that show bush ahead like 16%, despite the real polls like zogby showing them dead even; it's obviously something that should be attributed to the media. they're basically lieing.
so what's to stop them, the evening of nov. 2nd, from just all saying "Bush wins!" no matter what the outcome of the votes actually are?
we would never know. we rely on the media for information. they can tell us whatever they want.

The precincts reporting vote tallies would probably have a hard time explaining all the Time/Newsweek vans parked in front of thousands of polls around country.

| 6. No national poll has shown Bush up by 16 percent |

but the polls showng him up by 11 are certainly misleading.

that at least one or two of the main networks would necessarily call the election honestly. If they disagreed, the one in the right could produce the actual results and make the rest look like monkeys. For that exact reason, even Fox won't take a chance on outright lying.
On the other hand, any state that's "too close to call" will be fair game, plus plenty of premature projections for Bush before all the votes are in. But I don't think they would dare to lie outright about the actual results once the votes are in.
