| This is what Kerry has to overcome |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 10:16 AM by dennis4868
Last night on Tweety's show he had a guest on from the Washington Post. I believe he was chief editor...not 100% sure about that though....that's not important....anyway, this guy from the WP said to Tweety (and Tweety agreed) that not only did Kerry give Bush a blank check to invade Iraq but that he begged Bush to use the check.
And here is a editor from the WP lying on national cable regarding Kerry's position on Iraq. It is just a flat out lie. But he says it, and of course Tweety will not corerct him because then he would be going off of Rove's script for the night (and election).
By the way, here is what Kerry said just before he voted to give the pResident authorization to invade Iraq.
"Let me be clear, the vote I will give to the President is for one reason and one reason only: To disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, if we cannot accomplish that objective through new, tough weapons inspections in joint concert with our allies."
Now how can anyone call themselves a professional journalist after pulling this deceitful act on Kerry last night?
Mr. Kerry....this election is not fair...the media will defend Bush on everything (except for Dan Rather), pick up on Bush lies about you (just like what they did to Gore in 2000) and will distort and outright lie regarding your position, especially on Iraq to make you look like you are incoherent, a flip flopper, etc...And it will only get worse as we get closer to election day....keep this in mind as you campaign and dont give the other side (Bush and the media) one inch.....attack back!!!

| 1. I looks increasing like a very tall brick wall |

There is a bush frenzy in progress right now, regardless of how stupid he or his proposals are they get favorable comments. No matter how bad things get in Iraq or here, he gets a pass.

| 2. Please check thread - How Kerry wins the war debate |
|
People are viewing the decision to go to war or not as generally no advantage for Kerry.
Kerry must take a new stance....and claim ownership to an entirely new issue.
Bushco went into Iraq not simply to effect regime change...but to experiment with democracy....but even further....and most importantly...to use US MILITARY PRESENCE within the region to effect a LONG TERM reshaping of the region.
Kerry must decisively take a stand that he will commit US Troops ONLY during Iraq reconstruction and that the US LONG TERM interests...
1. Are not to ensure that democracy flourishes or takes root in Iraq 2. That US military presence in the region is not a long term objective for the purpose of reshaping the region.
As a corrolary to this....he will argue decisively how to learn the REAL lesson from 911...ie....that a dozen or so individuals can wreak havoc and that the only way to fight terrorism is through INTELLIGENT home land security....not world unrest.

| 3. The chief editor of the Wash. Post is NOT a professional journalist |
|
He is a propagandist who takes orders directly from the White House.
This isn't lazy journalism, it's state-controlled media. Like in Russia but with better special effects.
