| How good is www.electoral-vote.com? |
|
www.electoral-vote.com
It seems like a toss up, still, as the weak for Bush and weak for Senator Kerry states could go either way. What an exciting election year! We'll win in November, I'm sure of it. No way that the shrub can survive the truth.

| 1. It just posts the most recent state polls |
|
and he gives the states to the candidate even if the lead is 1 percent. That's why Bush gained since yesterday.

| 3. Thanks, haven't caught previous discussions. |

If I were the webmaster, I wouldn't call a state leaning one way or the other until there was a minimum 3 or 4 point lead.

He only gives states to the candidates if they're outside the MOE. http://www.dcpoliticalreport.com

He reports every poll he gets as if they are equal, and uses GOP polls without noting their partisanship.
I look at his site often, but I always look at what poll he is citing if I think a state is out of whack. Often he will be using a small local media poll that doesn't have as much credibility as some of the national organizations.

| 4. He's good except for one thing |

He allows clearly partisan polls into his maps because they're "newer." He even discusses this on his site concerning Ohio, how Rasmussen has Ohio tied, but Stratigic Vision (GOP) has Bush ahead by 12, but the SV poll is slightly "newer" so it goes on the map! What's also disturbing is his reliance on Gallup. Gallup has bad polls that make WIDE swings with no rhyme or reason. I am not sure how they became THE name in polling, but they don't appear to know what they're doing.
Getting rid of the bad polls on his site (OH and WI), and the electoral college is effectively tied.
