It comes across as no different than the ole "You just hate America"


Any body who thinks the members of this party should shut up and get in line, because we won, is a fool.
This is the EXACT line we've heard from the other party for the past 8 years.
Not the change many of us were hoping for.
Power for its own sake is 100% corrupting.
A fool who thinks like a child and has no understanding of how politics actually works is no help to us.


No member of congress should stop representing their constituents, because we won, they should re-double their efforts.
No member of this party should stop speaking their mind, because we won, they should speak up even more.


I still support the President, but not blindly.

And in there lies the problem with many people here. They are idealists, and not realists. They dont take politics into account when addressing an issue like the legalization of Marijuana. Instead they see Obama as a coward for not taking up an issue that has zero chance in Congress.

It amazes me that the crowd that is accused of blindly following the "hope and change" man, seems to actually grasp that you cant just simply toss politics aside, thats not how things work or will ever work.

No one I have read here expected Obama to 'take up the issue' of legalization. That is for Congress, not the President anyway.
What ticked people off was his snarky attitude, making light of a serious and highly organized set of issues, and utterly rewritting the question he was asked in order to make it fit his rude reply. The man asked for questions, then mocked people for asking, and that is just not nice, not civil, and in this case it showed how out of date his thinking is.
But you can pretend folks are saying otherwise, just as Obama rewrote the question, you can rewrite the discussion.

I'm a follower of Krugman and now isn't the time for brakes. If I wanted brakes I'd have voted for someone else in the primary.

What Evan Bayh is doing is putting on the brakes right before we jump over 20 buses. I have never respected the man and never will and I'm ashamed that I voted for him in 2004.

Right now our healthcare system, energy industry, and taxes on the middle class are a mess. What does Evan Bayh attack in the budget...oh everything Obama campaigned on.

BTW Good old Evan Bayh also stood against renegotiating people's mortgages so that they are easier to pay. I'm thinking all of his campaign contributions from Financial Services (there is a giant industry in financial services in Indiana :sarcasm:) had something to do with that. The man represents big business. He's not that bright and I wish nothing but the worse for him politically.


I held my nose and voted for the democrat. Won't be doing that again if given the choice of a conservadem who gives the republicans cover and a real republican. I'll write in my Dad's name.

He represents his campaign contributors and the companies his wife sits on boards for not the state of Indiana.
