| 2. exactly! we'll win that seat then. esp with Obama going and campaigning on the Dem's behalf - hope |
that a strong female, black, gay or some other minority (compared to what's already in the Senate, I mean) runs for the Dems in PA, any word?

According to wiki: "On the Democratic side, Pennsylvania State School Board Chairman, former president and CEO of the National Constitution Center and former Deputy Mayor of Philadelphia Joe Torsella and state Representative Bill Kortz have both announced their candidacies. Other potential Democratic candidates include U.S. Representatives Joe Sestak of Pennsylvania's 7th congressional district, Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district, Allyson Schwartz of Pennsylvania's 13th congressional district, state Representative Josh Shapiro, and Pittsburgh City Controller Michael Lamb."

| 3. yep...Specter is obviously one of the less offensive pukes... |
...and Toomey is 100% pyscho - which will indeed insure that he will not get elected.

| 9. Conservatives can't win statewide in PA |
It's a blue state. Solid. Not a "battleground" state. A solid blue state.

| 11. Correct. You may not run as an independent or 3rd party candidate if you are registered with one of |
the major parties by primary filing deadline.

| 10. Specter will pull through. I wouldn't be surprised if Scaife isn't paying to manipulate the polls. |
Republican's in PA like to consider themselves to be free thinkers and many were not opposed to the stimulus package- only the Libertarians were. Toomey is too radical for most Republicans and Specter comes across as fair and balanced. Frankly, as a PA resident I would rather have Specter than Tommey any day and PA is going to want to keep a balance- one Dem and one Repub. You people pushing to see a Dem in Specter's place should back off or we will end up with Toomey. Please do not help Richard Mellon Scaife manipulate PA politics for his own sick reasons.

I think there's no way Toomey wins in the general election as long as we choose a good candidate.
