| The UN's musical tribute to Bush? |
|
This might be a stretch, but aren't the lyrics an apt intro to a Bush speech? http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/wire/sns-ap-general-assembly-color,0,2439090.story?coll=sns-ap-nation-headlines
UNITED NATIONS -- It was one of the many odd touches on the first day of this year's U.N. General Assembly: The world's premier gathering of diplomatic stars began with a plinking synthesizer version of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

Ah ! vous dirais-je, Maman, Ce qui cause mon tourment Papa veut que je raisonne, Comme une grande personne. Moi je dis que les bonbons Valent mieux que la raison
(Ah! I would tell you, Mom what causes my torment. Papa wants me to reason Like an adult. Me, I say that candy Is worth more than reason.)

many years ago, when I was a kid, Queen Elizabeth was making an official visit to the U.S., which at the time was a pretty big deal . . . lots of tv coverage, including a formal ball at the White House . . . so what number does the band play as the Queen arrives? . . . "The Lady is a Tramp" . . . I kid you not . . . :)
