The Next Rove Trick: Crisis with Iran

Wes Clark called this one last week at his Johns Hopkins speech. He said the BushAdmin's gotta do one of three things to win the election. (1) Get a solid victory in Iraq (or at least find some WMDs), but that ain't gonna happen. (2) Have a dramatic improvement in the economy, but that ain't happening either. Or (3) have a big ass don't-change-horses level crisis with Iran.

We're gonna have a showdown with Iran in October. Bank on it. They're already setting this one up (fundie TV ministers are already talking about Iran's actual weapons program and how it threatens Israel). But it'll not be a full war. They're saving that for the 2006 midterm elections.

3. Bernie Ward yesterday predicted Iran as the "October Surprise"

He said that in his opinion, Bush in October will announce to the American people that the United States has begun air strikes against Iran to take out their alleged nuclear capability.
