Earlier today I interviewed Sue Niederer, a member of Military Families Speak Out.

She took part in the United for Peace and Social Justice mass Anti-War march in New York City today. She was in Central Park when I talked to her after the march.

Her son Lt. Seth Dvorin was killed on February 3, 2004, just over two weeks after he returned to Iraq. He spent his leave at home with his family and Sue watched him go back to Iraq with a terrible premonition that he wouldn’t return safely.

Perhaps if others wrote with the same question, it would have a better chance of getting attention?

Here's what I sent:

Subject: Please can you help us?

A group of us saw your coverage of the mother whose son was killed in Iraq, Sue Niederer, and we are so upset and appalled that she was arrested. We would like to make a strong and concrete statement of our support for her, by sending flowers in her name to the station where she was taken. Can you give us this information? It is bad enough that Dover will not allow the coffins to be shown coming back from Iraq..Are we to hide the families of the fallen now? Jail them? Silence them? This could have been handled differently considering the Mother was clearly distraught. If Laura can't handle the heat of dissent she needs to get off the campaign Trail and take her Warmongering husband with her.

Earlier today I interviewed Sue Niederer, a member of Military Families Speak Out.

She took part in the United for Peace and Social Justice mass Anti-War march in New York City today. She was in Central Park when I talked to her after the march.

Her son Lt. Seth Dvorin was killed on February 3, 2004, just over two weeks after he returned to Iraq. He spent his leave at home with his family and Sue watched him go back to Iraq with a terrible premonition that he wouldn’t return safely.

100. Why not go big with a visual statement

I am new here so if this is not the place for this just kindly tell me to hush. They won't let us see the flag draped coffins of our fallen heroes. They won't let us see the stretchers of the injured and maimed. What we need is a big visual that will grab National attention and support the families of the fallen. What about a simple black wreath, possibly styrofoam covered with black ribbon, with a single ribbon stretching across the middle with the name of one of the fallen and a single gold star representing the Gold Star Mothers. One wreath is sad, 1000 plus wreaths is a statement that hopefully can't be ignored. Now imagine these wreaths being brought to the White House at the same time and placed one by one in a group or against the fence. Additionally a runner of some sort could be made with something smaller to honor each of the over 7000 injured and maimed. I realize this is a big idea that would have to be taken as a project by an organized group but 1000 plus black wreaths with the White House as a backdrop could send a message that isn't being seen by the American public. Just a suggestion.
