Moderator: Mr. President, some say that the war in Iraq is not going well, that many of our soldiers are dying, and that it is a quaqmire. What is your response?
Bush: Well, heh, we got Saddam, heh, and now we're uh, much safer. War is hell, heh, and some have to pay the price for our, freedom. Quaqmire? No, it's just that we can't, uh, can't stop the terrorists who are trying to stop us from bringing, uh, freedom, and, uh, democracy to the Iraqi people.
Kerry: Just because YOU can't stop them, George, doesn't mean that it can't be done! When I am president, we will go into their enclaves with force, and clean them out! Then I will get the United Nations involved in the peace keeping, bring our troops home, and let the Iraqis solve their own problems.
Moderator: Mr. President, you once said that getting Osama Bin Laden was of primary importance; but later you said that this does not matter. What is your view of Bin Laden now?
Bush: Well, heh, we got Saddam, heh, and now we're uh, much safer. Bin Laden is just one man, and we can't catch every terrorist. He has been marginalized though, heh, so he is not a threat now.
Kerry: Just because YOU can't find him, George, doesn't mean that he can't be found! When I am president, we will intensify our efforts in Afghanistan, and with Pakistan's cooperation we will catch Bin Laden and his gang, and bring them to justice!
