It's worth taking a couple of hours of sick time for this. Some businesses allow vacation time to be taken in hours, so do that if you need to. Make arraingments to work an hour later to make up if you can. It is VITAL that we all vote as early as possible, especially in the mountain and pacific time zones. Get the numbers up early.
If ypou are in a factory or manufacturing sitch, I understand that it's not as easy to take the time off. But, seek out those managers who may be sympathetic. Think up a good story if need be. But, try, TRY to vote as early as possible.
Also, those voting early, if there is anything out of the ordinary at a polling place, if there is suspicious activity of hinky voting devidces, you know that something is up and that it will get worse during the course of the day. So, by recognizing problems early you have time to make calls to officials or police after voting or on break. You may also have time to make a post here or get a message to someone who will make that post for you. By alerting DU, others in your area who have access to the phone and the internet unimpeded can take over.
It's VITAL! Vote early!!
