I don't know of anyone other than Zell Miller and radio talk show host Dori Monson (710 KIRO AM Seattle) but I'm in a blue state.

I've become a bit, um, strongly opinionated about the election. Most people have learned to steer clear of me on the subject.

They know there's too much at stake for anyone to have the luxury of voting 3rd party.

No I don't. But I know of one 50 year old woman who NEVER voted in her life who is now registered - she's motivated to get rid of Emperor George the Second.

My closest friend is a lifelong Democrat who genuinely thinks Bush is the better choice. He is voting solely on the terrorism issue and thinks Bush will make us safer.
We've been emailing back and forth for months on this sending each other blog snippets, news articles, etc. We're both well-informed, just reaching different conclusions. He compares himself to Ed Koch.
I've given up on changing his mind. Now I'm just enjoying sending him every piece of bad news for Bush that I see. Guess you can't change every mind.

I have family members and some friends who have drank the cool aid and are completely brainwashed....when I ask them why they are voting for Shrub they say "well, he is the only one that can protect us and is taking the fight to Iraq instead of fighting here in this country blah blah blah."
When I talk to them about it is like talking to the wall...they dont give a shit about the facts, they are convinced based on Bush's unsupported image!

I asked them all the time...how can you vote for Bush and think he is really good at protecting you when he ignored warning before 911 about the threats and they of cousre do not have an answer...again, they are not voting for Bush based on the fcats but instead on fear and emotions....really sad!

My mom 77 when I told her they were trying to scare older people into votes said I'm not scared of them! Yeah to mom for realizing the truth. She watches normal tv news unlike me so I am always curious what is out there for normal people that don't go online, she said it was on the news that Rathers docs while fake were true. I didn't know the truth part made it to regular news at all.
My mom is a christian and conservative dem so I am hoping that more christians out there can realize what a fake Bush is and how his party just uses religion and doesn't live it at all.

to offset that, I know of 3 Nader voters, who will be voting for Kerry. Also, a very affluent section that I drive thru once a week, has been having a "sign" war. First there were mostly Bush/Chaney, then a lot of Kerry popped up and now I see some saying "Repubs for Kerry". I like the looks of those.
:kick:
BTW.....I am in central Ohio

Unfortunately, my mom said she was voting for Bush last time I talked to her. She believes every little smear that the right wing whispering campaign puts out there. I can debunk these for her in about 2 minutes (thanks, in part, to the resources I have in DU), but she has gotten it into her head that she does not like Kerry, and won't vote for him, even though she's a lifelong democrat.

They still think about 9/11 and think * will do better on terrorism than Kerry. However, I come from a very conservative portion of the country, anyway, and these people are (were?) Democrats more by inheritance than by belief.
