Patterson Hood knows “The Dirty South" seethes.

“It’s our election-year record, so it was an angry time," said Hood, co-founder of The Drive-By Truckers and one of its trio of guitarist/singer/songwriters.

“It’s a love-hate thing, obviously. I’ve lived in the South for 41 years now, and chosen not to leave, so there’s obviously something about it I love," Hood said.

“But if they start packing us up on flatbed trucks and warming the ovens, it might be time to pack up the baby and move."

Work for awhile then it doesn't work. Been like that for a few days.

3. These guys flat out rock

DBT has released several albums that I can't go a few days without throwing in my CD player.

They flat out rock, and play spirited music that sounds even better while ingesting spirits and fine smokables.

They make every other wannabee corporate crap sound like just that, crap.

Throw them into the CD player and let it crank.
