| Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results of the primaries |

I hate that stupid amendment passed, but I can't say it's a surprise that it did.
Baxley won, which is good.
Moore lost, which is even better.
And even better than that, every one of Moore's acolytes went down HARD.
Things are looking up.

would have been much better than the current Supremes. Yes, Tom Parker is a moonbat... but so is Drayton Nabers. The difference in the two of them is that Parker votes with the consumer while Nabers & Co walks lockstep with the BCA and insurance companies.
However, I was glad that Baxley won and Dial got the axe.

While the current Supreme Court is terrible, the Moore ticket would have been far worse. They are Christian Reconstructionists.

than Nabers & Co. Moore's group wouldn't be able to change the whole face of govt I don't believe...

And I have some sympathy to your point of view, in fact.
But there is not a doubt in my mind that had Moore's slate of SC candidates won, it wouldn't have taken them long to engineer another pointless fight with the federal courts. Parker, and the others aligned with Moore, openly declare that state courts have a duty and obligation to ignore higher court rulings that they disagree with. That's an, um, interesting legal theory.

Sue Bell Cobb stack up against her rival? I was a social worker in Alabama, and had her as a judge a few times. I respected her opinions. However, my freeper aunt was also a social worker, and HATED her! So I am really pulling for her!

If you, a DU'er, like her, and your "freeper" aunt hates her, I think the answer is pretty clear. :)
