| 2. Alabama is not a caucus state: one states which ballot one wishes at the polls, D or R. |

Both Kucinich and Edwards and even Dodd were on the ballots as were their pledged delegates' names. The local papers reported the exact precinct returns, and every name was included, from HRC to Ron Paul to Tom Tancredo. In Alabama, at least in Lauderdale County, we use an optical scan ballot: one gets a sharpie and then fills in a blank space that makes a complete arrow and then feeds it themselves into the scanner, just like a scantron test in college or the ACT or SAT. After it is fed into the scanner, you just stand there, it scans and the count for total votes updates and away you go after the "beep" showing you are finished and get your sticker.
