There are so many worse indicators for bad health than a high BMI.
Smoking comes to mind. Getting drunk. Using drugs. Being diabetic (although that's not voluntary). Not taking care of your diabetic consdition (this usually is voluntary of course). Insomnia. Underweight! Being underweight is actually a serious health risk, according to statistics. Driving long distances. Being sexually active is riskier than being celibate, actually. Inactivity (a fit person with a high BMI is generally healthier than a slothful person with a good BMI).
How can they single out this one issue?
