I hope so.
By "that gay thing," I mean adding "gay" to the hate-crimes law.
I've got torn feelings about the concept of "hate-crimes." But it is obvious that if we are going to have a "hate-crimes" law, it should include sexual orientation, without a doubt.
Tuscaloosa News doesn't really tell me much about what's happening in Montgomery. Anyone have a website to suggest, for keeping up with the Hot Monkey Action? :)

Did something pass that was expansive to gay civil rights during the fall... because I have the weird feeling that I read that something did, because I was so shocked that it did. http://www.whnt.com/news/sns-ap-al--hatecrimes,0,3325004.story

I don't remember anything like that. But the news media, at least in my area, seem to do a pretty poor job of covering the state legislature, as I have lamented repeatedly here.
