MADISON, AL -- Gov. Bob Riley announced Thursday that Madison has secured a $36 million federal loan to help pay for a new high school.
Riley was joined by several local leaders, including Mayor Paul Finley and Superintendent Dee Fowler, for the announcement at Bob Jones High School.
Madison's loan is part of the $236 million available to Alabama schools from the federal Qualified School Construction Bond program, which was created by the economic stimulus law passed earlier this year. The loan is interest-free.
