Kay Ivey, in her latest campaign ad, calls the Mobile Register a "liberal" newspaper. Excuse me?
In a state rife with right-wing newspapers, isn't the Mobile paper at, or very near, the very rightward edge?
Here's her commmercial:
http://vimeo.com/10013487In any event, her claim that the Register is "liberal" is laughable. And, incidentally, her voice and accent really grate on my nerves. She's almost as bad as Gomer Pyle, Guy Hunt, or Paula Deen. At least Gomer was a nice guy, Guy Hunt couldn't really help it, and Paula Deen cooks a tasty pork roast. I find no such redeeming quality in this putrid example of a gubernatorial aspirant. None of the other Republicans are any better, really. And that is what is so sad. One of those Republicans is likely to be our next governor, and they all suck in a major way. And even the guy that is likely to be the Democratic nominee is running circles around himself, in order to put distance between him and every major Democratic, or liberal principle. It's quite a sad state of affairs, all around.
But it was Kay Ivey's ridiculous assertion that the Mobile Register is a liberal rag that motivated this post. I mean, it's a statement from another planet, for anyone that resides on planet Earth.
