they had to take a poll to find this out?
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/12/05/BAGDIG2Q8B1.DTLVoters who participated in last month's special election are deeply disgruntled with the job politicians are doing and continue to support the initiative process as a way to solve the state's problems, a new poll by the Public Policy Institute of California shows.
A survey of about 2000 special election voters showed that they went to the polls despite being upset with the measures on the ballot and the politicians who failed to reach compromises that would have averted the vote.
Voters took their job seriously, said Mark Baldassare, director of the poll released today.
"They were sending a message that they don't like the way the Legislature and the governor are working together," he said. "Their message is that politicians better go back to the drawing board, or they'll be sending more messages next year."
