| Michael Moore coming to San Diego after censorship battle with college |
|
Controversial filmmaker Michael Moore will apparently be coming to North County after all. That was the report Thursday from the president of the Cal State San Marcos student government, Manal Yamout, at the conclusion of a public forum on campus held to debate issues raised by university President Karen Haynes' Sept. 13 veto of Moore's visit to North County.
Yamout's announcement was greeted with resounding cheers from about 500 people, mainly students, who gathered throughout the day at the sun-splashed plaza at the foot of University Hall.
Yamout, president of Associated Students Inc., said the maker of the documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" is booked for a 7 p.m., Oct. 12 appearance at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Yamout said the students have reserved a space that would hold as many as 10,000 people.
More than $40,000 in private donations came into the student government coffers to pay for the filmmaker's trip after the veto.http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2004/09/24/news/top_stories/20_45_139_23_04.txt

who vetoed Moore came to California from Houston where she had contributed to the campaign of a conservative who had tried to oust the libertarian-leaning Congressman Ron Paul. She's a piece of work. I'm glad the students rallied behind Moore. It's a sad, sorry day in America when the President of a public university can veto a speaker simply because she doesn't like his politics.

I hope someone can help.
I'm looking for the list of colleges and dates in Moore's campus tour. I've checked his site and googled but have been unable to find anything.
Please have pity on a computer illiterate.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't think about trying that. And I wouldn't have, assuming I'd get no answer.
But when I went over to Moore's site, it became moot. The site had been updated and the tour cities are now listed.
However, the closest is FLorida, so unless I can get together a road trip, it's not happening.
Thanks again for the suggestion.
