1. They did that a few years ago. I don't see what was wrong with the original name.

I remember Hayward was pretty angry when they got dissed like that.

3. They changed it about 8 years ago. The reason stating is because

it's a commuter school. Real reason is because Hayward is seen as a hell hole of meth fiends. I mean SFSU is a commuter school and the same goes for most of the state schools.

4. No, it's because they were trying to include the Concord campus in the identity.

People in Central and Eastern Contra Costa didn't register with CSU Hayward as a local school.
