Protest in Pomona on Friday, May 8th

A medical dispensary was opened in Pomona a little over a week ago. The police came in and rousted the workers as well as patients. Medications were taken from patients.

The newspaper gives the police account and is wrong on several counts. I would encourage you to really read the second link. It appears there will be a law suit filed against the Pomona PD. If you can make it on Friday, the medical marijuana patients could use your support. I am not a medical user but it makes my blood boil that a cancer patient is told to go to a real doctor as his medication is being taken and that a dumb ass cop brags about being old school.

1. Protest was pretty good

There were about 75 people there and local newspaper covered. Didn't see any local news stations. The stand is taking place in here and several lawyers were in attendance.

3. Another Update

There is so much going on in CA right now it's hard to keep track of everything. Ever since the SCOTUS refused to hear the lawsuit of San Diego and San Bernardino counties the medical users have been going to city council and board of supervisor meetings. The link contains information about meetings and video clips of medical users.

As of right now the dispensary in Pomona is still open. The girl being held on one million dollars bail was released and told she had not been arrested, only detained for 72 hours. And here I thought bail was only set if you were arrested.

Between the vigils for the ruling on prop 8 and everything else that is going on, medical users would appreciate your support in attending some of the meetings.
