Hi, I am unemployed most of the time these days and I am starting to go stir crazy. I need to get involved in the progressive movement somehow to ease my restlessness. I live in Calaveras County, CA and am looking to meet someone, anyone, face to face to talk about or discuss the current issues from the progressive point of view. I am a lifelong Democrat and union member. I have worked construction all my life and now find myself not needed by corporate whores. Please send me a private message if you want to be of assistance. Basically surrounded by wingnuts and anti-abortionists. There are a few I have found that think in the same political vein I do, but none have the courage, as I do, to talk back to these rethuglicans. It would be nice to sharpen my wit and exchange some information with a few friendly faces. I am also a vet and union member, just waiting for part of that stimulus money to reach here, but might not happen with my congressional rep being Dan Lungren. Of course he's a corporate whore and knows that single payer health care is only for those other countries. I am not too much in love with Senator Feinstein either, but Senator Boxer gets my support.

3. There used to be a Democrat Club in Calaveras County.

There was also a lot of conservationist groups.

4. Dan Lungren is a shameless, slimy, suborned carpetbagger...

who was born and formerly represented Long Beach, CA.

He is firmly nestled in the pocket of corrupt, greedy corporate pigs.

Lungren has the uncanny ability to be on the politically incorrect side of every issue.

How sad for the Third Congressional District, and justice loving patriots throughout California and the USA.

Start running now, yourself, for that seat!

Put some heat and light on his fidelity to "special interests" at our expense.

5. If it makes you feel any better, I live in Eastern Placer County and I'm

surrounded by nothing but wingnuts, homophobes, anti-abortionists, Bush lovers, etc., etc.

It's hard to imagine things are any worse here, even though I live in the suburbs of a major city. :eyes:

Roseville and Rocklin are overwhelmingly Republican. Fuckers. HA!

But good luck! Maybe you can take a drive into the "big city" of either Stockton or Modesto, and get away from all of those Republics for at least a day to connect with civilization.
