Dolores Huerta will be the guest speaker at the Fresno Free College Foundation's 41st Annual Banquet this coming Saturday, September 19th.
Advance Dinner Tickets are $40.00. At the door, tickets will be $45.00. Group Table tickets (8 persons) are available for pre-purchase at a discounted price of $280.00. Tickets may be purchased online at www.kfcf.org through brownpapertickets. Tickets are also available in advance by calling 559-233-2221 during regular business hours. We are honored to present keynote speaker Dolores Huerta, who co-founded the United Farm Workers Association with Cesar Chávez.
She later directed the UFW’s 1968-69 national grape boycott, and has since been an outspoken advocate for labor, women’s rights, and social injustice. She recently articipating at the Meet in the Middle for Equality rally in Fresno, in opposition to a California ballot measure that eliminated same-sex couples' constitutional right to marry. Love and Garlic will cater the banquet with a gourmet menu featuring lemon caper fish skewers and pork roast, as well as vegetarian polenta with basil and cheese sauce and a spinach salad bar with fresh oven-grilled vegetables.
Doors open at 6:30 when we will feature Squaw Valley musical duo Nancy and Henry Zuniga with a blend of traditional Mexican ballads, as well as country and bluegrass tunes.
Dinner is served at 7, and our keynote speaker will begin at 8. We will also be announcing this year’s winner of the Fresno Free College Foundation’s Free Speech Award.
Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door. “Speaker-Only” tickets are also available at a cost of $10 for general admission or $5 to those who show a valid current student identification card. Group (of 8) table discount tickets are available.
