Glad I moved here

I recently moved to the Bay Area, and have tried to become rapidly familiar with local politics. It was heartening to see that, in lieu of the state's budget disaster, local citizens were more than willing to pick up the slack by voting through two parcel taxes for local school and mental health services funding. The two measures passed by 75%, easily exceeding the two-thirds requirement.

It was nice to see people so fired up and so concerned about their local communities that they are willing to sacrifice to provide for those who most need it. In these rough economic and budgetary times, it's good to have a reminder that people are still looking out for those around them.

Straddling the border. My bf grew up here, and after several extended visits this spring, I had to move here. It's too pretty, the weather too nice, the people too much fun. Really enjoying it so far.

now I'm by Palm Springs but I miss Somonma Valley the most. I traded Lynne Woolsey for Mary Bono-Mack

I miss San Fran way too much! San Diego has some great weather, but seems very different politically.
