Witness in Richmond gang rape case vanishes

"A 21-year-old man who said he feared for his safety after witnessing the gang rape of a Richmond girl outside a high school homecoming dance has been missing for more than two weeks, police said today.

Family members say they have not heard from Salvador Rodriguez Jr. since the evening of Dec. 7, when he went to a store in Richmond to pick up money that his mother had wired to him from Phoenix.
Relatives filed a missing person report Dec. 16, telling police they feared Rodriguez might have been targeted.

Rodriguez was a witness to the Oct. 24 gang rape of a 16-year-old girl who had just left Richmond High School's homecoming dance. In a nearby courtyard, police said, as many as 10 men assaulted the girl for two hours while others watched and took photos."

One would hope there would be enough evidence - DNA, cell phone pics - to convict the monsters who did this crime without the testimony of this guy.

beyond identifying the perps to police so they can start matching DNA and pictures to names.

I hope he's taken off and he's safe. He needs to contact his family. A post card handed to a flight attendant is the best way.
