| In Fresno, Jan 15th, California Comprehensive Water Package Forum |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 10:05 PM by annm4peace
The Mayor's Water Crisis Forum will be on Janaury 15th at 9 o'clock at the Convention Center Valdez Hall. No charge.
Fredrick Douglass declared in his 1857 speech, "If there is no struggle there is no progress."..and."Power concedes nothing without a demand."
The event is an informational forum on the Comprehensive Water Package recently advanced through the State Legislature. This first forum will be hosted by City of Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin and sponsored by the Latino Water Coalition, the Association of California Water Agencies and numerous other groups/agencies. Similar forums will be held around the state encouraging attendance by local elected officials, State/Federal Legislators, general public and the media.
These forums are intended to provide the greatest detail possible regarding the contents of all the policy bills and the bond package. This will be an excellent opportunity to ask the regional and State experts questions regarding this complex Water Package.
Best regards, Kelli Furtado Deputy Chief of Staff Office of the Mayor (559) 621-8000
