| Is Meg Whitman planning a political comeback? |
|
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/detail?entry_id=81321California Republican Meg Whitman's failed $150 million-plus drive to become California governor is barely in the rear view mirror -- but her appearance in San Francisco today, the first public gig since the 2010 election, has sparked buzz that she's thinking about a political comeback....
"What she's trying to figure out is what is an appropriate public role for her,'' suggests Hoover Institution research fellow Bill Whalen. "Even though she did lose the election, she was the Republican gubernatorial nominee, and she spent the better part of two years talking about the problems facing California."...
As one of America's wealthiest women, several in the know suggest she aims to emerge again with a message and a profile on the California politics scene. And fairly soon.
Whalen speculates the GOP billionaire's best move could be as a deep-pocketed backer of ballot measures which could drive the GOP agenda. "Unlike having to run a $150 million campaign and being the star, she could be one of several people involved, give $10 million -- and get an idea passed,'' he said. "It's image rehabilitation.''

| 1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! |
|
Say it ain't so! I can't even think about seeing her mug all over the place again!
She did, however, dump a very large sum of money into California.
She's a bigger and more delusional fool than I thought.

| 5. She dumped money into Fat Cat media mogul pockets |
|
$150 million campaign to make her the star; it was all about her.
Had she not been such a self-centered megalomaniac, she would have spread some of that money around to other GOP candidates running for state offices, and built a genuine base. Politically, she's an outsider looking in, and that's where she remains, an outsider with a ton of dough and a flawed personality.

| 6. Yeah, the moguls got the lions share... |
|
They always do. I had to keep thinking about the lowly production folk who got work in the deal too... at a fraction of what the moguls got, but it's always so.
Flawed personality! Hahaha! I've thought that about her many times, but seeing it in writing just now tickled me. Yeah, she's a piece of work... completely removed from the reality most Californians live.

and now they want it back.
I'm willing to bet she goes after Sen. DiFi's seat. Just a thought.

Palm Springs has a large GLBT community. The Prop H8-loving NutMeg would be rather a poor fit.

| 4. I have a feeling Ms Whitman could adapt to the circumstances. |
|
The way she dumped on her latino servant sort of shows how "adaptable" she really is. And she would make a capable replacement now that Sonny Bono has left the room. I am not, mind you, suggesting that she could win, or that the LGBT community should support her, but merely that she would be up to the job and fit into the wealth worshipping atmosphere in PS.

| 8. With her money, why doesn't she just go to Paris, |
|
France and enjoy herself? I just want her to get as far away from California as possible.

Isn't there some kind of deserted island the GOPiggies can go to? I'll pay the one-way ticket!
