On Edit: Additional notes from my friend in Sac:

(1) The Elk Grove club is still struggling to get started.

(2) Town and Country is in jeopardy of collapsing due to membership numbers, a need to bring in some fresh blood, and someone willing to take a leadership role. I'm not sure what their fate is going to be.

(3) Most of the clubs include members from Placer and/or Yolo counties.

6. All the groups are struggling. There used to be a strong group

in Lodi. But so many started dying off-my father included. The younger generation just doesn't do groups the way our parents did.

I really don't have any further local information right now. I don't even live in the area, but my daughter and another friend do. I'll ask them if they have any other information, but I wouldn't count on it.

solidarity with Wisconsin in Sacramento at 5:30 PM on February 22, Tuesday. I assume it will be mostly Democrats. I wish I could go but I have to work the next day and couldn't make it back at a reasonable hour.
