Why are we Dems?

Why are we Dems if the Democratic and Republican parties seem to exist only to relive the civil war? I Don't f-ing care about the North/South divide. Do you? Perhaps it's time we start thinking about a Regional party for the west coast states, or maybe even just for California alone. We could call it the California Democratic party, and it would contribute to the national Democratic party when it comes to voting in senate/congressional majority leaders, but would retain California's best interest in mind when voting on all other issues.

2. You may be onto something

If enough heavily populated states tried to secede from the national party, perhaps they'd realize that they've been doing something WRONG for all these decades and perhaps we could get rid of the DLC.

3. I think it's time...

We've lost 6 elections in a row, and seem to be going for a 7th. (Winning one Presidential election while losing all of congress doesn't count as a win. Sorry.) It's time to rethink our party and figure out how to make it belong to the people again.
