| This DUer has found a job in Broomfield/Denver CO .... |
|
I start this monday .. April 4th, 2005
I will be establishing a secondary household (IE renting a room ) for the length of this contract work (approx. 3 - 9 months ) .... It is a good job and I intend to make the most of it .... I will be leaving my family in MO (Will visit once a month), because I need this work just to stay afloat .... That is how desperate we are ....
Now: the question: Does ANY DUer in Denver/Broomfield and vicinity have a spare room they would like to rent to a safe, serene, secure DUer who is a family man, who rarely drinks (and doesnt get drunk), who doesnt use drugs, who is intelligent (I think) and who is a good progressive (and therefore easy to get along with ... ) ... etc ...
I want to preserve as much money as possible, but I prefer a wholesome and clean environment that a DUer would, of course, provide ....
Anyways ... I leave Sunday morning on this great trek .... It will take me approx 11 hours to get there .... I will be in motels if I have no other good options ....
Btw: I would gladly accept even temporary shelter, until I can find a decent room ....
So: IF you have such a room, at a reasonable price for a goodly DU regular, then please feel free to PM me .... I can really use the help ....
Thanks to all who consider this or respond ....
Dontcha love DU ? ......
Indeed ....

| 1. Good luck with this. I think you will enjoy your stay in CO. |
|
Beautiful area--much larger and more populated than when I lived ther some--oh, let's see--50-odd years ago. I'm contemplating going back for my golden high school reunion next year, but think I'll pass, not because Colorado isn't a gorgeous place to be but because I feel like a totally different person than I was back then. Part of my transformation has happened recently, since I've been a part of DU. Best wishes on your new adventure. Please be sure to take advantage of all the gorgeous mountain scenery not that far from you. If I were there, you would definitely have a DUer and SO who would welcome you with open arms. Take care and be safe!

| 4. That was my first thought |

Maybe Lafayette or Louisville proper would offer more affordable options. Would require more of a commute, but that's part of the "new" Colorado experience. :eyes:

| 5. I have no idea what prevalent rental rates exist .... |
|
Which is why I depend on the goodly denizens of DU to inform me of such facts ....
Broomfield is the objective, the communities on the periphery will be just fine for me ....
