I don't want to double post large files, so if interested, please see this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3581947It was a pretty cold day to be standing out there!

and for standing out there in the freezing rain/cold weather.
I should have been there...I live way up north of Denver, but the hubby and I have talked a few times about going down to CO Spgs to protest that horrible ministry on our own. His dogmatic stance on everything from breaking the spirit of "strong-willed" children, to beating dogs, to his GLBT hate-speak, and lately his absurd ideas about judicial "tyranny" -- all of it -- proves to me that he never knew Jesus.

| 2. Well, he does seem to have a shallow and immature faith in God. |

Oddly enough, we seem to have an active community of Christians who have actually read and understood the lessons in the Bible, especially in the New Testament. :-)
And those Topeka people, I think they are suffering from group reinforced delusions.

| 3. About Those Topeka People |
|
Most of the members of the Westboro Baptist Church are members of Fred Phelps' extended family. So the problem may also be genetic.

Nature and a whole lot of bad nurture, that would explain it.

| 6. Early education, for sure. |

They were picketing outside the church I attended in the Springs that morning, and had very young children with them.
The saddest thing is... heterosexual relationships created all those Topeka people. Oh, the irony!
