A tale of taxes and two swimming pools.

One pool is shared by a community the other is owned by a Coors. One is surrounded by families, the other is surrounded by a mansion and open space. Sitting in one pool, the view is of happy children and parents. Sitting in the other pool alone is Scott Coors like the king we never wanted.

One pool is in danger of closing unless Aurora residents approve a property tax increase. The other has appeared in the Rocky Mountain News Home section with Scott Coors sitting in his infinity pool high in the foothills with perhaps one of the greatest views in Colorado. Families in Aurora who are struggling to make ends meet must decide if they can afford the extra money. The Aurora vote will be later this year. Until then the community faces an uncertain future.

Coors recently moved their corporate mailing address to Delaware to dodge Colorado taxes which would have paid for their use of our roads and schools. But don’t fret, they’ll still give us something: pollution.

When President Bush cut taxes people said that the middle class would, in the end, see their taxes increase while the wealthy would have a huge windfall. Here we go.

The Coors family is one of the most influential families in America supporting President Bush and insisting on tax cuts. They believe that the government is about a large military and practically everything else should be eliminated. Yet they don’t really support America’s military because they aren’t helping to pay for Bush’s wars through taxes.

The taxes that Aurorans pay helps pay for the war but not their pool. The taxes Coors doesn't pay helps pay for their pools, but not the war.

This is one example of how the rich are appropriating what millions of Americans have worked to achieve. Readers of the society column in the Denver papers recently saw that Scott Coors sold his mansion for 4.4 million dollars and is moving into the expensive Denver Country Club neighborhood. Scott is sad that he won’t get to see his beautiful view every morning. No mention if his new house has a pool.

Coors, which bought Molson, is one of the biggest bush boosters. I wouldn't buy anything made by them if it was the only product available!

5. I stopped drinking Coors the minute i read a report that

they secretly gave hundreds of thousands through lobbyists who were their proponents for the War on Drugs, specifically for its continuation. Big bad Coors is now definitely and irrefutably afraid people's "luxury" money would probably flow into Cannabis Cafes were this very convenient ban not in place.

Yeah, well its not very convenient for the kids locked up 5 to 10 for nonviolent offenses you heartless phuksticks.

Besides, there are a lot of good beers out there... like Blue Moon !

Check out anything by Stone Brewery out of San Diego. Now that's good stuff!

Or how about something by New Belgium. Fat Tire, Loft, etc. They run their brewery on wind power.

11. You may want to consider sending this in to the Denver Post.

It addresses the very disconnect in thinking that Thomas Frank describes is "What's the Matter With Kansas". And the fact that Scott Coors is gay makes it even more to the point. The working classes who have bought into and support the GOP rhetoric are acting against their own economic interests. The upper class GOP are in this primarily for the financial benefit (and social control of the "lesser" classes) while telling the working class it is all for "family values" and American apple pie.
