| Rutt Bridges drops out of Colorado governor's race |
|
"The businessman and think tank founder says he doesn't think he has the stomach to be an effective politician." What does that mean? Is it a code for having skeletons in his closet? http://www.9news.com/acm_news.aspx?OSGNAME=KUSA&IKOBJECTID=a7a3a83b-0abe-421a-0196-12bd97130ef3&TEMPLATEID=0c76dce6-ac1f-02d8-0047-c589c01ca7bf

| 1. Man, where do they get these names? |
|
I'm sorry if this is a common name in Colorado, but "Rutt"? He must have been driven crazy in gradeschool.

| 5. His full name is Samuel Rutt Bridges |

He was born in Georgia. Moved here the same year I did - 1980. We are the same age. Oh, we were both in the petroleum seismic data processing business - he got rich, I didn't.

That's been my hope for awhile. Hickenlooper would dominate, I think, and he'd make a good governor.

Whether anybody wants to hear it or not, we need someone fiscally conservative for a few years to get the deficit under control, we need his business acumen to get the state revenues back up, and we need his liberal social views to counter that whole RWnut thing going on down in Colo Spgs and to turn education around in this state.

| 7. Ben Nighthorse Campbell is considering entering the race |
|
Or so I read somewhere today.
I suppose he'd become the favorite, if he did run. Could end up as Campbell vs. Hickenlooper, which would be interesting.

I thought Campbell left the Senate for health reasons. (Cancer if I remember correctly.) I do NOT want to see that man as governor.

| 11. I certainly agree with you |

I think I read it on Taegan Goddard's Political Wire. Campbell was giving mixed signals, so no one knows what he'll actually do.
I wouldn't mind if he ran and lost to the Democratic candidate. That would make a nice payback.
