Well, after 2,000 miles in a Uhaul truck with two cats in the cab, I made it! I arrived Friday and stayed at my sister's that night, and then went on to my new place in Boulder on Saturday.
Needless to say, I'm exhausted! I seem to be allergic to Kansas, as my asthma flaired up really badly while I was driving through and spent the night there, and it is just now getting better. Of course, going from sea level in south Florida to 5500 feet in Boulder in four days probably had something to do with it too. My persian seems to be sneezing and wheezing a little too, so I have to take him to the vet.
I have a ton of stuff to unpack, have to take the Uhaul back and go rent a car. Other than that, I'm all settled! I'm glad to be here and very excited about starting work tomorrow! Now if I can just get adjusted to the mountain air and the time zone, I'll be all set!
Peace, Bella

I can't wait to see how the move influences your Photo Group entries! :hi:
Have people been telling you to drink lots of water? It will really help your body get adjusted. They say it's the altitude that requires more water, but I think it's the dryness. It may not look like it, by we are in a mountainous desert area. Takes a toll on the bod!
Good luck in the new job!

| 6. Good advice. Drink water, don't over do, watch the alcohol intake. |

It can take 2-4 weeks to become acclimated. :)

This is one of the driest and dustiest times of year here.
There's a cool/cold front moving in tomorrow evening, with light rain or snow possible. That might clear up both your wheezing and your cat's.

I hope you get to know the great outdoors. That's what living in Colorado is all about.
Welcome!

Let me know if you need any assistance, and I can definitely agree with the drink lots of water suggestions - aim for at least 3 liters a day, more if you're working hard. If you're peeing all the time, you're doing the right thing!
Best,

Just in time for snow that's right around the corner! I bet it'll be fun watching your cats explore and acclimate to their new surroundings.
Good luck on the job and with everything. All the best, always!

Anyone want to come help me unpack? Just kidding. :)
Had my first day at work today, it went well. I think I'm really going to like it here. Hopefully my lungs will adjust to the thin cold air soon!

I moved away for a couple of years. But I couldn't stay away. I think there is a reason my family goes back 5 generations in Colorado.
And a little tip on the hydration. As you know now...it's extremely dry here. When I haven't been hydrating enough...my lips chap. Nice and simple. Anytime my lips start to sting even a little bit...I up my water intake.
And seeing as you're in Boulder...you must go have a beer at The Sink. Robert Redford worked there in college.

He did work at The Sink, and went to CU. Legend has it that he sold his room mates books to finance the move to Hollywood. There are a lot of great restaurants and bars here, you will have fun exploring.

Lets plan to meet soon. Get some nasal saline....or your nose is going to burn! It took me 2 years to get used to the dry climate after Atlanta
