Has anyone heard anything new on this?
After working in Boulder and Longmont for the last two years, and being laid off three time in the last three years, I've finally found a job in downtown Denver again, starting next Monday. I was delighted. One of the great advantages to working downtown is being able to ride the bus and relax and read while someone else does the driving.
Unless that someone else is on strike, which seems likely to happen in the next few days. My timing has been perfect(ly bad).

but congratulations on finding work in this hellhole of an economy! Keep your chin up, and remember: Republican president="Every Man For Himself". Democratic president="We can ALL Do Better!"

| 2. Thanks. I was very lucky. |

A good job, great location and salary. I've been laid off frequently, but I've had outstanding luck at finding jobs when that happened. So far, anyway.

they've reached a deal, but it has to be voted to approve the contract, but strike is still possible. If your bus is run by a contractor, you won't be affected (RTD has several contractors running the bus)

I think the bus I take is one of the contract ones.
As a kneejerk, pinko, fuzzy-minded, bleeding-heart liberal, my automatic sympathies always lie with the unions. But when my own ox is being gored, I find myself hoping that everyone will back down and settle the thing without any disruption.

And I checked RMN with you in mind, and found that the Boulder-Denver route is affected. Your best shot is find a commuter or call RideArrangers.

| 6. I'm in Denver, not Boulder |

I was driving from Denver to Longmont, and then to Boulder, which was a real pain.
I drove to work on Monday and Tuesday, but I took the bus today. I live near one of the routes (30) that's contracted out and so is still running. It's on a reduced schedule, though, and the buses are jampacked almost the whole way.
Still better than driving, but not a great deal better.
